Purpose:

The New York State Economic Association (NYSEA) invites undergraduate economics students to submit their original research paper. Selected papers will be presented during the conference. All participants will be recognized with a certificate of participation. The winning papers will be awarded with cash prizes at the conference.

Eligibility:

Entrants in the contest must have been an undergraduate student during the 2020-2021 academic year. Papers must have been completed while the student was an undergraduate. Papers may be singly or jointly authored, but all authors must be undergraduate students. At least one author must attend the conference in October to present the research. The paper can be empirical or theoretical in nature, but must conform to general academic paper conventions as outlined in the Research Paper Style Guide on the NYSEA website.

Evaluation:

Judges will consider both the written paper and oral presentation at the conference. The substantive contribution, methods used, literature review and motivation, and quality of both the written and oral presentation are all important parts of the evaluation.

Submission:

To enter the contest, please submit the following by July 15, 2021 to: Dr. Della Lee Sue at: Della.Lee.Sue@marist.edu and to UGpaper@nyseconomicsassociation.org

   c. Your final paper including abstract in Word or PDF with the following format for the file name: Last name.first name.pdf (.doc,.docx)
